Two months left and counting...

Well it's pretty 2 months to the day when I will be at the first Independent UK Grand Tournament, and I just submitted my final list last night, so with out further ado here it is:

I've gone with a combi flamer on the 4th Wolf Guard for close encounters with hordes (Orks are my bogey army). Wolf Scouts in my experience have been a case of 2 or none as 1 will always end up on the most far away board edge. Rest of the army is pretty straight forward.

Sadly none of my regular club mates play at 1750! So I have had to strip the list down to 1,500 - basically I have dropped the two 10 man Grey Hunter units to 5 men each and drop the 100 point Jaws Rune Priest.

It works after a fashion but I need to learn to use the Land Speeders better as they tend to die quickly with out doing much damage.


Also I have Vassal so if anyone fancies a game on there drop me message!

  2. To keep me focused - I guess!

    I would like to get use to using the army without having to change things, and in the past I have found doing things my way and forcing the square peg into a round hole actually works.

  3. It just scared me, I had to check that it wasn't due in, I think its a good army my only comment would be on the scouts. Do you think it would serve a greater purpose to have one squad with Melta bombs and a melta gun maybe MOTW as well rather than 2 squads?

    Also what about some plasma in those Grey Hunters, you have a massive amount of Melta to crack those high armourd vehicles but what about some rapid firing AP 2?

    Now I realise you've put it in but I dont think there is anything to stop you changing it, just my 2p's worth like.

  4. Well personally the scouts have been great to me so far, and most of the time they have been trashing light armour where krak grenades are good enough or light infantry or keeping shooty units busy in combat.

    With 3 Speeders and at least 2 rhinos coming forwards and the scouts coming from the rear sandwiching my opponents have worked quite well.

    A lot of folks thing its either Scouts or Land Speeders - buy why no both?

    As for Plasma/AP2 that's why I pooped in the razor backs though torrenting the 2+ guys tend to work too.

    Guess I'm going to have to drop one Wolf Guard and with the 16 points left buy a Grey Hunter.
