All your bases belong to me!

Well after deciding on how to base my Paladins of Steel army I thought I will share how I am making the bases - in a surprisingly quick and effective manner.

First off I brought some scenic kits

Cut to fit base

Now cut/trim/file the plastic scenic piece to size of base

Paint as you see fit!

Now repeat X number of times!

Simples!

And don't forget to visit my my friend's blog!

  1. I've seen this done before and you're absolutely right, it is a simple and effective way to get a great look.

  2. I've been looking for a nice "cracked mud" type base to put a new army on (if/when I ever decide to do a new army) and this looks pretty great, but let me get this straight.

You are just gluing this to the top of a GW base? How thick is the base material from Wills? What did you use to cut the basing material?

Anywho, it looks really good and I am really considering stealing this for my next project.

  3. The Willis plastic material is roughly 2-3mm thick, and I just used plastic glue to stick it on to the base with, and then used clippers to get a rough shape in line with the base and then a file and a knife to get it perfectly in line.

    It is really that simple!

Better than paying silly money for resin bases.
